The Concerts on the Corner Christmas Concert features classical organist, Chuck Goehring and vocalist Jared Slothower Sunday, December 14, 2:00 at Wabash Ave. Presbyterian Church. Mr. Goehring, well known throughout central Indiana, is the former organist at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Indianapolis, serves as guest organist at several churches, and teaches piano and organ. He presently coordinates the Butler Artist Series, consults nationally with churches in search of directors of music and coordinates a music program for the St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN.
Jared Slothower is a multifaceted musician and teacher based in Indianapolis. He is a recent graduate of Ball State University, Bass section leader at Christ United Methodist Church and vocal coach at Lawrence North and Franklin Community high schools. He also sings with the Cincinnati College Choir and Indianapolis Opera.
The concert will highlight the antique church pipe organ that includes two keyboards, and was built in 1935 by the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Co. Concerts on the Corner organizers again are excited to spread the love of God through the joy of music to the community with free quality performances. The Christmas concert will feature beloved carols as well as holiday songs. A free will offering with go to the FISH food pantry.
