Connie Kay Hinesley

Connie Kay Hinesley, 83, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Indianapolis.  Connie was born on January 5, 1940, in Lebanon to Carl R. and Helen L. (Dilworth) Couden.  She married Don R. Hinesley on April 29, 1962, at Rossville Methodist Church.  He survives.

Connie was a graduate of Frankfort High School in 1957 and later graduated in 1960 from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked at Lafayette Home Hospital from 1963 to 1972, was a nurse for Dr. Fred Flora Medical office, and then a registered nurse at Clinton County Hospital for 25 years with Dr. Steven Tharp medical office before retiring in 2004.  She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church where she served on the Pastor-Parish Committee, sang in the choir, and was very involved at church.  She served on the Milner Community Health Care Board for 6 years and was a founding member of the Rossville Foundation Board.  Connie had a caring heart and enjoyed serving others.  She volunteered for hospice and visited with hospice patients and was active in helping with WeCare. She enjoyed exercising three days a week since her retirement, but above all, she loved her family and enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children and grandchildren and being supportive in all they participated in.

Along with her husband of 61 years, Connie is survived by her sons, Mark (Betsy) and Robert Hinesley; sister, Nancy (Don) Hufford; and grandsons, Nathaniel, Luke, and Matthew Hinesley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Scott.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10am at Rossville United Methodist Church.  Pastor Bob Raschka and Allen Weldy will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s honor to Rossville United Methodist Church or Rossville Church of the Brethren.
