Conservation Officers Locate Body in Sugar Creek

Indiana Conservation Officers located a body in Sugar Creek Wednesday afternoon approximately a mile and a half downstream of the Creekside Lodge Restaurant. The recovery was made by Indiana Conservation Officers, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Crawfordsville Police Department, and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The Montgomery County Coroner has identified the body as Luke Clark, 26, of Perrysville.  No foul play is suspected at this time.  An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. tomorrow morning in Terre Haute.

Clark was reported as a missing person to the Crawfordsville Police Department yesterday afternoon by his employer.

Search efforts had been going on since Sunday when Clark disappeared in Sugar Creek in the area of the Creekside Lodge Restaurant In Crawfordsville.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., multiple witnesses stated a male subject in his mid-30’s was in Sugar Creek floating by the restaurant yelling for help.  The subject went under the water and was last seen just off the bank of the restaurant property.
