Contested Race Winners in Carroll, Howard and Boone Counties

The following are results from counties around Frankfort and Clinton County that held contested races in the General Election Tuesday night.

In Carroll County, winners for the Burlington Township Advisory Board were Republicans Lance Alter, Linda Heinzelman and Bill Northcutt. Alter was the winner with 534 votes, Heinzelman had 525 and Northcutt finished with 523.

In the race for Jackson Township Advisory Board, Republicans Marlene Gail Frye, Jill Moudy and Lisa Ringer were all winners. Ringer was the top vote-getter with 338, Moudy had 306 and Frye finished with 291.

In Howard County, Republican Debbie Stewart defeated Democrat Tammy Mohr 62 percent to 38 percent for the Clerk of the Circuit Court position. Republican Jerry Asher defeated Democrat Norris Jones for County Sheriff 58 percent to 42 percent and in the County Council District 4 race, Republican Bryan Alexander defeated Democrat Gregory Steel 65 percent to 35 percent.

Winners in Boone County contested races included Republican Jeffrey Thompson (State Representative District 28), Republican Tim Brown (State Representative District 41), Republican Lori Schein (Circuit Court Judge), Republican Jennifer Hostetter (County Council District 1), Republican Steve Jacob (County Council District 4), Republican Tom Santelli (County Commissioner District 1) and Independent Mikada Davis (Thorntown Town Clerk-Treasurer). In the four-person race for Washington Township Board, the three winners were Republicans Kerry Dull, JoLynn Durham and April Shepherd.

One race of note in Tippecanoe County, Democratic candidate Bob Goldsmith defeated Republican challenger Jason Dombkowski in the contested race for Tippecanoe County Sheriff. Goldsmith finished with 25,614 votes to 25,351 for Dombkowski.
