CORE Community Center announced the recent receipt of grant funding from several generous organizations. These funds will be used to enhance existing programs, upgrade facilities, and expand services to the community.

Grant Highlights:

Walmart Grant: A $600 grant from the local Walmart will enable CORE to purchase shelving for the transition of the Prather family’s foster closet into a community closet. Cameron’s Community Closet will open its doors on Dec. 2, 2024, and will operate by appointment only during business hours.

Tipmont REMC Operation Round-Up Grant: A $1,000 grant from Tipmont REMC Operation Round-Up will fund an upgrade to the Free Weight Room flooring, installing heavy-duty 3/4″ mats throughout the entire room. This project is scheduled for the week of December 2, 2024.

Brave Heart Foundation Grant: A $4,000 grant from the Brave Heart Foundation will support the ongoing Get SMART Youth and Get SMART Junior programs. These programs provide valuable resources and support to middle and high school students at no cost.

Indiana Department of Health Grant: CORE recently purchased an Obie Interactive Projector for the Racquetball Room, a $4,800 investment funded by the Indiana Department of Health. This projector will enhance indoor physical fitness activities for all ages.

“We are incredibly grateful to Walmart, Tipmont REMC Operation Round-Up, the Brave Heart Foundation, and the Indiana Department of Health for their generous support,” said Stephanie
Cooper, Executive Director of CORE Community Center. “These funds will allow us to continue our mission of providing essential services and programs to our community. We couldn’t do it
without the steadfast support of our donors.”
