COVID Changes Plans for Rossville Schools Next Week

Rossville Schools has been informed of an additional positive COVID-19 case within the Rossville Elementary student population. This is in addition to the two cases reported in Rossville Middle/Senior High School yesterday. We follow the CDC guidelines for contact tracing and have identified another group of students who fall within the criteria. The criteria include being within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes of an individual with a confirmed positive case and within two days of the symptom onset of these individuals.

The Indiana State Department of Health will contact those families that have been identified for contact tracing. The student’s home phone number listed in PowerSchool is the telephone number the state has been provided. Should your child have been considered in close contact, you will receive a call within 24-48 hours from the ISDH Contact Tracing should they meet the criteria.

If you do NOT receive a call, your child has NOT been identified as close contact and are low risk; therefore, you are to monitor for COVID symptoms.

If you receive a call from contact tracing, your child will need to be isolated for 14 days. The ISDH Contact Tracing will guide you on their return date.

Lastly, we are taking all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Beginning Monday, September 28, the middle/senior high school AND the elementary school will have eLearning and return to school on Monday, October 5. All staff will report to work on Monday, September 28, except for cafeteria staff and bus drivers.

Thank you for your understanding and for working with us through this time. This is a fluid situation that may change as the health of our school community changes. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause families. It is being done for the safety of all.
