Crash on I-70 Claims the Life of an Indianapolis Woman

An early morning crash on I-70 has claimed the life of an Indianapolis Woman. At 4:54 Sunday morning emergency crews were called to the east bound lanes of I-70 at the 85.6mm for reports of a single vehicle crash, callers were reporting a female had been ejected from the car. When first responders arrived they found 28 year old Kaitlin McWilliams lying in the left lane of the roadway. Her car had significant front end damage and there were no other occupants. Despite life saving efforts Ms. McWilliams was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators believe the 2012 Chevrolet McWilliams was driving ran off the road to the left and struck the concrete median wall. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected through the windshield of the car. Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in this crash. There were no other vehicles involved. The Marion County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene to recover the remains. The left lanes of I-70 were closed for two hours while the crash was investigated and the wreckage was removed.

This crash remains under investigation and there is no further information to release at this time.
