Cripe Issued Letter of Possible Disciplinary Action for Arrest in Boone County

ED CRIIPE

The Board of Public Works and Safety issued a letter to Assistant Fire Chief Edward W. Cripe at its meeting Monday regarding possible disciplinary action concerning criminal charges pending against Cripe in Boone County.

The letter notified Cripe of his statutory rights concerning potential disciplinary action against him within the Fire Department.

Cripe was arrested on charges concerning operating a vehicle while intoxicated earlier this month. Those charges remain pending.

The Board was presented with a Notice of the Chief’s Charges on October 20 by Fire Chief John Kirby. The Board will consider Chief Kirby’s recommendations regarding disciplinary action and will follow the procedures required by state statute.
