Cub Scout Pack 336 recently celebrated a successful food drive where the scouts collected donations of non-perishable food items from the porches of residents of Mulberry and Colfax.

The scouts collected the donations throughout Mulberry and Colfax for the local food pantries over the weekend after delivering bags for the donations to residents throughout the week last week.

The scouts and their parents traveled around the areas to collect the items, and the room utilized to store the items in Mulberry was filled, and Colfax was right before Mulberry with a large quanitity of items as well.

Alongside the collection of items, the scouts were treated to a tour of the local food pantries to learn more about what the pantries provide for the community, and the pack has announced that the food drive is slated to become an annual event.

“We are blown away with the amount of donations that were given,” the pack released. “Thank you to those that gifted the scouts bottled water and snacks for (the day). They loved getting to enjoy the treats.”

The Mulberry and Colfax residents donate large quantities of non-perishable food items for local food pantries.
