Cynthia Joanne “Cindy” Slaven, 79, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Indiana Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on May 4, 1946, in Frankfort to James and Joan (Miller) Wyatt. She married Tim Slaven. He preceded her in passing.
Cindy was a graduate of Frankfort High School, class of 1965. She worked as a parts inspector for many years for Mallory Timer/ Emerson Controls. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and other crafts that allowed her to express her creativity and artistic side. She never knew a stranger and had a friendly personality to all she came into contact with. But her heart and passion was being a loving mother.
Cindy is survived by her son, Rick Brownfield; a brother, Dave (Bette) Patchett; and a sister, Debe (Bob) Birge.
Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents.
