Danny E. Crow, 74, of Colfax, Ind., passed away on Saturday morning, May 25, 2024 with his wife, Christine, holding his hand and his fur babies by his side. He was born on January 24, 1950 to the late Max and Jean (Wilson) Crow. He married Christine Davis in the Colfax Christian Church on March 26, 2005 and they had an amazing and blessed 32 years together, she survives.
Danny was a 1968 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. He helped his dad on the family farm. He worked for and drove a semi for Waddell Brothers, where he got started for Quality Carriers. He owned an ice cream shop and laundry mat in Colfax. He owned his own tree business and had helped his brother, Tom with his tree business. He helped and worked at Grumpy’s Bike Shop in Thorntown. He worked for Federal Mogul in Frankfort. He bought his own semi and went back to driving for Quality Carriers until his retirement in May 2021. Danny was a really hard worker, even at home. He was a Jack of all trades and was very talented and creative. He loved to put lights on motorcycles, cars, and semis.
He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and fur babies. He is survived by his Wife of 32 blessed years: Christine. From his first marriage to Kathy Moore Crow, he has three sons: Kyle Crow of Frankfort, Jeff Crow of Frankfort, and James (Lisa) Crow of Kirklin. His second marriage gave him a son: Devan Crow of Florida. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother: Tom (Merridy) Crow of Thorntown, sister: Judy (Gary) Pollock of Lincoln, IL, mother-in-law: Bonnie Davis of Colfax, and his fur babies: Fancy and Nova. He was preceded in death by his parents and fur babies: Pennie, Gunner, Misty, and Sadie.
He had so many friends that he loved to be with. He was a hugger and always said how he felt about people. He had a big heart and smile. He loved his fur babies. He loved riding his motorcycle and traveling all over the United States and a good part of Canada. Together, he and Christine had seen things and been places that some of their family and friends wish they could have seen. He had a 2000 blue Goldwing that he accessorized with blue lights that danced to his music. This motorcycle was his pride and joy. He won a lot of awards for it. He had other motorcycles too. He made a diamond plate bike trailer and tool box that won an award as well. He and Christine had bought a cabin in Tennessee where they had planned to retire. He loved the scenery and riding the curvy roads there. He enjoyed his morning coffee on the back porch in the peaceful atmosphere, but due to his health, they never made a complete move. He enjoyed bible study with Mike Hawthorne and Chuck Watkins. He also enjoyed nature, especially planting flowers and bird watching.
When he first started having health issues, they treated him for neuropathy. He used to walk around town, stopping to talk with his friends, Mickey, Joe and Terri Rogers, and enjoyed drinking coffee with pops on his porch. He also enjoyed going to Golden Corral to eat with Andy, Snappy, and other friends. In February, we were told he had an aggressive cancer, AML Leukemia. With his age and health, there was not much they could do, although he was a fighter. He was not afraid to die, but said he was not ready. When he came home, we started hospice care and he was still a trooper. Not long before he passed, he said “Mama, (which he called me) I’m tired”. I told him it was OK. He always said we were blessed and God would take care of us and I believe that. He is not in pain and he is in a beautiful home where we will be together again someday.

Thank you to our Colfax Christian and Colfax Methodist families, Brie and the other girls that took good care of him when he had his blood transfusions at Witham Oncology, everyone on the 2nd floor and extended care at Witham that treated him so well, Dr. Mitch, Dr. Ketchner, and Alicia Suburban. A big thank you to the awesome ladies at Paradigm for taking care of both of us and how you were with him. God Bless you all – you will never be forgotten. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday June 2, 2024 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Following cremation, Danny will be laid to rest in Plainview Cemetery at a later date.
