David L. McQueen

On March 22, 2019, David Lynn McQueen went to be with our Lord at the age of 57 after succumbing to liver cancer.  David was born June 24, 1961, in Middleborough, Kentucky, the fourth child of the late Frank J. and Retha (Ayres) McQueen. He had formerly been married to Wanda Bottoms and later Jennifer Clawson.

As a child, David was very thoughtful and sensitive with great talent with colored pencils.  David had attended Frankfort Senior High School and later achieved his GED.  When he passed away, he was enrolled in college classes.  David, like his brothers, had followed in his father’s footsteps to work in construction; he became a journeyman roofer and had worked for Blackmore and Buckner for many years, working on both the dome at Frankfort High School Gymnasium and Schleman Hall at Purdue.

Surviving David are his children, Casey McQueen (Rusty Lowe), of Greenwood, SC, April Ponton and Maranda (Adam) Klecz, both of Frankfort, and David Andrew McQueen, of Dayton; brothers, Michael (Phyllis) McQueen, Steven (Martha) McQueen, of Lakeland, Fla., and Frank McQueen, of Frankfort; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. David will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Alter, and brother, Terry McQueen.

A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Victory Chapel in Frankfort with Pastor James Barnard officiating.  Memorials in David’s name may be made to help the family with final expenses.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com
