Loving husband, father and grandfather, David H. Rogers, 81, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 31 in his Beech Grove home. David was born May 28, 1940 in Frankfort, Indiana to Hulett and Hazel Reavis Rogers. Preceding him in death are his parents, and brothers, Donald, Robert, Dale and Philip Rogers.
David married Beverly Mitchell, the love of his life on November 21, 1959. In their 62 years together, they lived most of their life and raised their family in Frankfort before moving to Beech Grove, Indiana in 1999 to be nearer to their children and grandchildren. He enjoyed service in the Elks Lodge in Frankfort, having served as Exalted Ruler and making many life-long friends. David will be most remembered for his kindness, love for his family, selflessness and witty sense of humor.
David was a graduate of Frankfort High School. Always an example of a strong work ethic, he retired from Alcoa in Lafayette in 1999 after 40 years. Upon moving to Beech Grove David worked ten years at Navistar in Indianapolis. Throughout the years he would work part-time for Hartman, and later Frye Funeral Homes. After retirement he volunteered in Kim’s classroom, helping with projects.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; son, Jeff Rogers; daughter, Kim (Brian) Hall; grandchildren, Adam (Kristen) Hall and Emily (Tyler) Post; and sister, Joyce Ogden.
Memorial visitation will be from 5 p.m. to the start of the memorial service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
