Davina Leigh (Meeks) Impson

Davina Leigh (Meeks) Impson, 39, of Fairborn, Ohio and a former Frankfort resident lost her battle to Leukemia at 6:18 a.m. on June 1, 2018 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) in November of 2016. Since then, her days were filled with constant medical treatments and hospital visits. Despite all the hardship around her, she was always smiling and eager to help others.  She was and still is a beautiful soul that has touched many people throughout her life. Though it pains us to see her leave, we take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering. We would rather her be in the hands of God than in the hands of cancer, and for that, we are thankful.

Even though it seems that her life was short, it was filled with many memories that family and friends will forever cherish; and in turn, making her live forever. Davina was so full of life. Her laugh was contagious and her smile was comforting. It could light up the whole room. The party didn’t start till she walked in! Definitely the life of the party. There was never a dull moment with her around.

Born May 31, 1979 in Frankfort, Indiana to Gordie & Patty (Wyatt) Meeks. Davina attended Frankfort High School and then later, received her G.E.D.  Throughout her life, she made many sacrifices and had many jobs in order to take care of her family. Nothing could stop her from providing for her children.  She loved music, comedy, fishing with her husband, Joe Impson, and bonding with her friends and family. Once, she caught a 30 lb catfish! What a catch; just like her.

She gave birth to three beautiful children; Morgan Parsons (19), Alvi Impson (14) and Ryan Winchester Jr. (7). Through them, her sense of humor, loving heart, and life lessons will be carried on for years to come.

Davina is survived by her parents, husband, children, sister, Breanna Jo (Paul) Adair, nieces and nephews, Mattalynn McBee, Aries Adair and Damarcus Adair and Joshua Gordon Meeks.  She was preceded in death by a brother Joshua Meeks and her grandparents.
