Dean Albert Isaacs, of Logansport, passed away September 12, 2020 at his home. He was born March 23, 1932 in Flora to Asa and Ruth (Hanna) Isaacs. Although he was born in Carroll County, he lived in Cass County since 1953. He married Malinda Margaret Williams on October 13, 1973; she survives.
Dean graduated in a class of 15 students from Flora High School in 1950. He kept in touch with his graduating class and met up with them periodically over the years. He was a self-employed electrician, owning Dean’s Electric, for over 60 years. He was a member of Southside Fellowship Church of God in Logansport and served as the church treasurer for over 50 years. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved the Grand Ole Opry.
In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by his sons, Larry D. Isaacs of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Stephen A. Isaacs of Logansport; daughters, Thelma R. Isaacs, Sharon L. Collins, and Karen S. Grisamore, all of Logansport; 10 grandchildren, Nena Trexler, Garvin Spencer, Buck Conklin, Jerron Spencer, Jacob Isaacs, Sean Murphy, Kyle Murphy, Ryan Michaels, Blake Isaacs, and Hannah Isaacs, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Lyle D. Isaacs, and brothers, Dale Isaacs and Herbert Isaacs.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora. The funeral service will be on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. The service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.gendafuneralhome.com. Pastor Phil Frye will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
