The community has been invited to join the team at the Delphi Opera House this Saturday, Jan. 11 for an 1860s Fashions and Finery Presentation and Workshop for a free experience that brings history back to life.
At 10:30 a.m., community members may attend a presentation with Kay Gnagey where she will describe the different types of clothing that people would have worn during the 1860s. Following the first session, at 1 p.m., community members are invited to gain hands-on experience with the construction of histrocial clothing through helpful discussions and practical demonstrations led by Gnagey. During the 1 p.m. workshop, Gnagey will walk participants through the ins and outs of sewing a garment from start to finish, and those in attendance will see patterns, a finished gown and more from the 1860s era.
Both of the session are free to attend, but the 1 p.m. workshop is limited to 25 people. All participants should bring a pencil, paper, pens and pins.
