The Delphi Police Department and USPS teamed together to respond to a call for service during the Christmas season where a theft in the 400 block of North Washington Street in Delphi was reported.
The victim reportedly advised the officers that they recently moved to the area, and their family from Kentucky mailed them Christmas gifts and cash that was reportedly stolen from the post office. The victims allegedly visited the Post Office and the package was confirmed as delivered, prompting the officers to follow up with the carrier in charge of the route. The mail carrier was reportedly able to identify a possible suspect.
The alleged thief of the package was located with the packages undisturbed in their vehicle.
