Delphi Police Utilize Camera Systems To Locate Subject Experiencing Mental Health Crisis In Neighboring County

The Delphi Police Department released further information regarding a report received that a local community members was having a mental health crisis.

The department stated that deputies and officers were stopped near the Carroll County Courthouse as community members reported that a subject who was possibly in a mental health crisis had reportedly left their phone at home and was believed to be in the Delphi area.

The department stated that through a check of the person’s license plate through Flock Safety and Axon LPR cameras, the department determined that the vehicle had not been in the Delphi area recently. The systems instead reportedly showed that the vehicle was currently in a neighboring county, which prompted the officers to locate the vehicle and check on the well-being of the driver.

“This saved local first responders from deploying multiple resources and additional manpower in a search for the subject,” the department released.
