Delphi Releases Spring Cleanup Date For May 4

The City of Delphi released its spring cleanup date for May 4 with guidelines for Delphi residents.

According to the city, the spring cleanup will begin around 6 a.m., and community members are encouraged to ensure that the trash to be picked up must be set out by the curb by that time as TK Trash Kans will not return to service the residence after the first pickup.

The city also released guidelines for the cleanup, including the items that are permitted for the cleanup, items not allowed for the cleanup and guidelines for bulk items.

Items Eligible For Spring Cleanup:

  • Large furnitures, including couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, bed frames, dressers, tables, lamps, end tables and more.
  • Large appliances, such as stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water heaters, water softeners and microwaves.
  • Carpet and padding, which must be cut up in pieces under 6 feet and tied.
  • Any bagged trash, paper, cans and small miscellaneous items considered to be “household junk.”

Items NOT Eligible For Spring Cleanup:

  • Construction from a business, building or home, including shingles, wood panels, doors, windows, siding, bricks, conrete, drywall or any type of remodeling material.
  • Rocks, grass, dirt, tree branches, trunks, leaves and bushes.
  • Paint, oil, gas, medical waste, tires, auto parts and burn barrels.
  • Electronics, including televisions, computers, stereos and more.

Guidelines:

  • Any item over six feet in length must be cut fown for the driver to take it.
  • Compressors MUST be removed from freezers and refrigerators.
  • Appliances must have a tag certifying that freon has been removed.
  • Any loose items must be tied and/or bagged for easy pickup.
  • TK Trash Kans will not pick up loose debris left at the curbside.
