Dennis G. Cleaver, 68, of Frankfort passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
He was born July 21, 1949, in Frankfort to George E. and Martha (Clendenning) Cleaver.
Denny graduated from Frankfort High School in 1967. He attended Ball State University and received both a Bachelors and a Masters degree. He was a Business Department teacher at Frankfort High School from 1974-2000. He was also a Driver’s Education instructor for many years. Denny served on the Frankfort School Board as well as the Clinton County Fair Board. He was active with the county fair for over 20 years. You always knew Denny was in a room with his distinctive laugh.
Denny is survived by his sister Kathy Scircle; nephews, Kenneth Scircle (companion Autumn Owens), of Lebanon, Doug (Megan) Scircle, of Farmington Hills, MI, and Adam (Melissa) Scircle, of Decatur, IL; and great nephews, Jackson and Milo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, March 1, 2018. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Denny’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association of Indiana.
