Detectives Make Arrest from December 27 Interstate Shooting

Earlier on Friday, detectives from the Indiana State Police arrested a Camby man for his involvement in a shooting that occured on I-465.

The original incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. December 27, 2018 in the northbound lanes of I-465 near 56th Street on the city’s west side. Detectives believe a road rage incident led to shots being fired from one vehicle into another while driving along the interstate. There were no injuries reported, however bullet holes were located in the victim’s driver’s side door. Witnesses were able to give police a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle giving investigators enough of a lead to file for a search warrant. That search warrant was executed this morning and as a result of the investigation 37-year-old Billy Robinson of Camby was arrested. He has faces the preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm and pointing a firearm.

The investigation has been turned over to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, any further inquiries about this case should be referred to them.
