Dick F. Pitzer

Dick F. Pitzer, 88, a life-long Clinton County resident, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.  He was born July 2, 1930, in Clinton County to William J. and Dorothy (Ferguson) Pitzer.  On February 22, 1953, Dick married Williadean Crawford at Hills Baptist Church; together they shared 66 years of marriage.

In 1948 Dick graduated from Sugar Creek High School.  He worked at General Motors Detroit Diesel-Allison Division for 28 years before retiring in 1993.  Dick then worked for 20 years at the Frankfort Public Library.  He was a member and past Master Mason of Kirklin Masonic Lodge #443 which is now Sheridan Masonic Lodge #309. He was also a member and past Worthy Patron of the Kirklin Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Kirklin Lions Club, and a member of Antioch Christian Church. Dick also enjoyed restoring antique tractors and was an avid Purdue and Butler basketball fan.  A family man, Dick attended his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s school and church activities throughout the years.

In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his children, Dwain & Becky Pitzer, of Kirklin, and Pamela J. Pitzer (Lou Tomassetti), of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Ryan & Melodie Pitzer, of Memphis, TN, and Matt & Carrie Coyle of Kirklin; and great grandchildren, Liberty, Levi, Lakelyn, and Lawrence Coyle.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents and a special aunt, Blanche Hollingsworth.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home, 608 N. Main Street, Frankfort Indiana, from 4:00 p.m. to the start of the Masonic rites at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Edmondson officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Dick’s name may be made for Parkinson’s Disease to Rock Steady Boxing c/o Witham Hospital, Lebanon, Indiana.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
