Donald L. Cox

Donald L. Cox, 80, of Rossville, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Milner Community Health Care. He was born May 4, 1937 in Lafayette to Fred and Effie (Metzger) Cox.  On May 26, 1973 he married Virginia Reifert, she survives.

Don was a 1955 graduate of Rossville High School.   He worked for Ross Gear a division of TRW for 30 years.  He then worked 10 years for Auto Warehousing at Subaru.  He also served as Chief Deputy Town Marshall for 30 years with the Rossville Police Department.  He was a 50 year member of Rossville Masonic Lodge #317.  He enjoyed woodworking, Ham radios and repairing radios, jazz music, and was an avid photographer.  Some of his work is on display in the Kokomo Museum and Old Stoney in Frankfort showing the Palm Sunday Tornado of 1965.

Along with his wife, Donald is survived by his step children, Natalie (Roberto) Mantica of Peru, Tamara (Doug) Sibbitt of Marseilles, IL and Curtis Hawk of Rossville; brother, Stanley (Nancy) Cox of Rossville; step grandchildren, Derrick (Michelle) Sibbitt, Jacob (Amy) Sibbitt, Roberto (Katie) Mantica, Marco Mantica; Step Great Grandchildren, Rylann Sibbitt and Daxton Sibbitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Freddie Lynn Cox.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Rossville Presbyterian Church. Pastor Mike Lyle will officiate.  A Masonic service will be held immediately prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.  Arrangements are entrusted with Genda Funeral Home in Rossville.
