Donald Wayne “Duke” Dilk, 32, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020, at his home. He was born in Lafayette, on January 5, 1988 to Donald V. Dilk and Ronda L. Crews. He married Brandy Hutchings on June 25, 2016; she survives.
He obtained his GED with honors and went on to graduate from Tricoci University of Beauty Culture in Lafayette. He owned and established 4 D’s barber and supply shop; and worked at Frito Lay and Lake Erie Screw. He was a member of Faith Family Church in Frankfort. Duke took pride in his profession and was a self-proclaimed “fixer”, gaining knowledge from the “School of YouTube”. He was a born leader, a quick study, and enjoyed spending time with his dog, CJ. Above all, he was a family man giving love to his kids.
Along with his wife, Duke is survived by his son, Bentley R.; daughters, Dajia and Destiny; his father, Donald; his mother, Ronda (companion, Lynn; son, Owen; and daughter, Madison); mother-in-law, Gina Wise (Bob Henson); brothers, Matthew Dilk (niece Maddy Sue), Chris Friend, and David Swimm; sisters, Caitlin Rogers (Robert Lewis) and Rachel Rogers; grandparents, Ron (Carol) Crews and Sue Crews (companion, Bill Seibert); and many close friends who he considered brothers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Dilk and Rita Klien.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service beginning at 7:00 pm at Faith Family Church in Frankfort. The service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.gendafuneralhome.com
