Donna K. McQuern

Donna K. McQuern, 67, of Frankfort, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born September 23, 1952 in Greenfield to Tenley and Alma “Lou” (Ewing) Burgan.  Donna married James McQuern on July 27, 1974; he survives.

Donna graduated from Sheridan High School in 1971.  She was a long- time employee of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department and previously worked at Wesley Manor and in the floral department for Marsh Supermarket.  She was a member of Michigantown Christian Church and a former member of the Beard Lodge Eastern Star.  Donna enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, making floral arrangements, and sharing her homemade strawberry jam with others.

Along with her husband, Donna is survived by her children, Jill (Jason) Gossard of Michigantown, Krista (Rob) Harris of Mulberry, and Kara Demaree of Lebanon; brothers, Rick (Athena) Burgan of Madison, Rocky Burgan of Madison, and Jeff (Pam) Burgan of Frankton; and grandchildren, Ellison Harris, Dakota Boles, and Travis Boles.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.  Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.  Pastor Karl Kercheval will officiate.  Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s honor to the American Heart Association.

    Jim, Krista, Jill & Kara.
    I’m sorry for your loss of Donna. She was a special lady to me, and I enjoyed caring for her at MH. I’m heartbroken I couldn’t t be there for her. Prayers and hugs to all of you.

      Thank you, for all the help. Donna is at peace no more thicken fluids, insulin, sugar checks, I. V. ‘s, B-Pak C-Pak
      (she used 1 for 1 night), or shots. 1 of the twins got her beef and noodles and the other one got her
      rice +? . The twins fed on sides of the bed, plus all the fluid she wanted. The next morning I was going after
      my coffee, she I was going to Bob Evans for B’s and G.s, coffee NOW. She also orange and cranberry juice.
      She was so happy. Donna informed the medical staff, Jill, Krista, Kara, and me she was ready to go see JESUS.
      That is when she went on comfort measures. Jim McQuern
