Donnabelle Myer

Donnabelle Myer, 101, formerly of Flora, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi.  She was born January 9, 1919, in Carroll County, to Frank and Lydia Jane (Eikenberry) Beckner.  On February 12, 1939, Donnabelle married Kenneth Myer; he preceded her in death on March 25, 2016.

A lifelong resident of the area, Donnabelle graduated from Camden High School in 1937 before working as head baker for the Carroll County Schools. She was a former member of the First Brethren Church, and more recently attended Bringhurst United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Friendly Circle Home Ec Club and enjoyed gardening.  Donnabelle loved traveling with her husband, most notably a trip to Paris and a special 50th wedding anniversary trip to Alaska.

Surviving Donnabelle are her children; Ronald Myer of Kokomo, James (Toni) Myer of Kalamazoo, Mich., John Myer of Aptos, CA, and David (Amy) Myer of Flora; eleven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband of 77 years, Donnabelle is preceded in death by her parents and ten brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. at Bringhurst United Methodist Church.  Pastor Brad Burton will officiate.  Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel.
