Dorothea Jeannette “Jan” Henderson, 94, of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Aperion Care of Frankfort. She was born November 16, 1925 in Morocco, Indiana to Orron and Anna (Guild) Bell. She married Calvin E. Henderson on May 18, 1946; he preceded her in death.
Jan lived in Hebron, Indiana prior to moving to Frankfort in 1943. She graduated from Hebron High School. She was a member of the Johnson Township Volunteer Fire Auxiliary and also volunteered at the Frankfort public library. Jan enjoyed leatherwork and making ceramics and giving them to friends and family.
Jan is survived by her children; Gary (Lynn) Henderson of Laveen, AZ and Don (Vicki) Henderson of Forest; grandchildren, Adam and Ryan Henderson, Courtney Pratt, and Keisha (Matt) Kelley, and Lindsay (Derek) Cloar; and great grandchildren, Dominik, Presley, Jackson, Catch, Porter, and Desirae.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Calvin Henderson II; sisters, Lucille Puett, Maxine Vernon and Donna Jean Landfadt, and two infant sisters; and brothers, Keith Bell and Howard Bell.
A private graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Brad Fullerton officiating. Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is entrusted with the arrangements.
