Dorothy E. Staley

Dorothy E. Staley, 87, of Frankfort, died August 28, 2019 at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville.  She was born on July 5, 1932 in Streator, Illinois to Waldo H. and Mary M. (Bakalar) Bledsoe.  She married Donald E. Woodruff on March 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1971.  She then married Fred Staley on March 3, 1973 and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2009.

Dorothy was a 1950 graduate of Rossville High School and earned her degree in Cosmetology from Kokomo Beauty College.  She worked for Federal Mogul and Mallory Controls in Frankfort and was co-owner and bookkeeper for Staley Auto Parts.  She owned her own beauty shops in Sedalia and Delphi and had a daycare in her home for many years.  She was a Cub Scout den mother, bowled on a Moose mixed league, was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and was past Worthy Matron of the Beard Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are her Daughter: Judy (James) Donnoe of Rossville; Sons: Michael Woodruff (Susan Tapia) of Clark, Wyoming & Greg Woodruff of Frankfort; Daughter-in-law: Julie Staley of Alaska; Sister: Joyce Carroll of Greenfield; Grandchildren: Christy (Rick) Robertson, Chad Woodruff, Donnie (Samantha) Woodruff, Mary Woodruff, Jessy Woodruff, David (Elesa) Donnoe, Matthew Staley, Timothy Staley, Brittney Milner, Morgan Crum, & Allison Fausett; 18 Great Grandchildren; Special Friends: Larry Delks of Rossville & Bridget Ailor of Frankfort.  She was preceded in death by husbands, brothers: Howard & Edward Bledsoe, sisters: Ruth Woodruff & Margery Soltis, and son: Dale Staley.

Friends may visit Noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Green Lawn Mausoleum.  Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy’s honor to Mooseheart, with envelopes available at the funeral home.  Please visit archerweston.com, where you may share a personal message with the family.
