Dorothy M. Stewart

Dorothy M. “Dottie” Stewart, 75, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette.

She was born November 30, 1941, in Bowling Green, OH, to Henry and Marguerite Barleycamp Harman.  She was formerly married to the late James Stewart.  Dottie and her companion, Norman Duckworth, shared 28 years together; he survives in Frankfort.

Dottie graduated from Bowling Green High School and then attended cosmetology school in Toledo, OH.  In 2004, Dottie retired from Frito Lay where she was a coordinator in quality control.  During her retirement, she worked for Shoup’s Catering in the summer.  For over 18 years, Dottie and Norman spent their winters in North Fort Myers, Florida; they dedicate their spare time to being the “activity directors” for the Park.  Dottie enjoyed flower gardening – being known for her green thumb, riding on their motorcycle, walking, riding bicycles, and water aerobics.  She was a former member of the Women of the Moose and member of the City Bowling Association where she played in both the ladies and mixed leagues.

In addition to Norman, Dottie is survived by her children, Kim Lane (Eddie) and Kathleen Anderson, both of Frankfort, and Tony (Micca) Stewart, of Lebanon; Norman’s children, Jackie (Ron) Clark, of Lafayette, Jody (Robert) Ritzmann, of Aurora, and Jeff (Julie) Duckworth, of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Matt, Devin, Desi, Millie, and Emma; two great-grandchildren, Addi and Lincoln; Norman’s nine grandchildren, and Norman’s 27 great-grandchildren.  Altogether, they created a truly happy family.

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.

A graveside service to honor Dottie will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, with Pastor Matt Skiles officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dottie’s name may be made to the Frankfort Parks Department.  Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, with online condolences being directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
