Douglas Aaron Sanders, 56, of Colfax earned his wings on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born January 10, 1962 in Frankfort to William A. and Gladys O. (Scholley) Sanders. On July 28, 1984, Doug married Madeline A. Ferguson in Colfax and she survives.
Doug attended Noblesville and Clinton Prairie Schools. He then attended Lincoln Tech School of Automotive. Doug was previously employed with Frankfort Automotive, Affordable Automotive and other positions as well. Doug was known as an excellent mechanic by many people.
Doug never knew a stranger. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. In his spare time he loved working on Fords.
Doug is survived by his wife Madeline; daughters, Maria (Bill) Higer of Colfax and Amanda (Aaron) Davis of Hillisburg; five grandchildren, Kate and Eryn Higer, Rhys Huffer, Blake and Conner Davis; his best friend David Moore and his loyal dog, Sheba.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law.
Doug donated his body to science in order to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Genda Funeral Home is assisting the Sanders family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
