Douglas W. “Doug” Segraves

Douglas Segraves, 68, of Frankfort, passed away January 13, 2026 surrounded with family.  He was born December 4, 1957 in Cass County, IN to Everett & Mildred (Griffin) Segraves.  He married his college sweetheart, Deborah Brown on June 27, 1981 and she survives.

Doug worked hard in all aspects of his life including family, education and sports.  Doug was a 1976 graduate of Lewis Cass High School. He received his BA at Purdue University.  After college graduation, Doug achieved his Masters of Education and an additional associate degree from Indiana University. He taught history, economics and government at Clinton Prairie High School Corporation for 26 years.  Doug loved economics, finances and the stock market.  He was president of the Teachers Union at Clinton Prairie, and would lead the negotiations. Doug was very active with after school committees, such as organizing prom for several years.  He was an over the road semi driver for Frito Lay during the summer, while helping at the family farm.  Doug was an avid sports fan; you could always find him cheering on his daughters and coaching during sporting events.  His love of sports continued through coaching track and football, as well as an ISHAA referee for basketball and an umpire for baseball. Doug was a member of the St. Matthews United Methodist Church.

Doug is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughters, Kimberly (Jason Jr.) Black of Colfax, Bethany (Jesse) Dority of Battleground, 5 grandchildren, Emma, Carley, Cloie, Everett, and Kinsley, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Segraves, sister, Sharon Segraves-Pittenger, in-laws, Bill & Eloise Brown and grandchild, Peyton Dority.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Additional visiting will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 23rd at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Kilmore Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Huntington Disease Society of America, Clinton Prairie Foundation or Guardian Angel Hospice Foundation.  Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence.
