Dr. Richard L. & Linda L. (Clark) Sharp

Dr. Richard L. Sharp of Rochester, New York, died April 21, 2018 at I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  He was born September 14, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Edward L. & Lila M. (Shilling) Sharp.  He was married to former Frankfort resident, Linda L. (Clark) Sharp. Richard graduated from High School in Kansas City.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and completed post graduate work at Purdue with a PhD in chemistry. He worked at Eastman Kodak as a chemist for 27 years.  Richard served in the United States Army from 1956-1958.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort and was church treasurer at Latta Road Baptist Church in New York.  Richard was a member of the American Chemical Society, the RV Forum, the Family Motorcoach Association, Monroe County Veterans as well as numerous other organizations.

Linda L. (Clark) Sharp of Rochester, New York, died May 1, 2018 at I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  She was born September 15, 1943 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late John V. & Hazel W. (Nicewander) Clark.  She married Richard Lee Sharp at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort March 1, 1964.  Linda attended Lincoln grade school and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1961.  She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Lafayette.  She lived in Lafayette before moving to Rochester in 1964.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort and a choir member at Latta Road Baptist Church in Rochester.  Linda was a member of the Suburban Rochester Art Group, Red Hat Society and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution National Society. She was an artist and enjoyed painting, quilting and making jewelry.  She and Richard were snow birds at the Voyager RV Resort in Tucson, AZ for 22 years. 

Richard and Linda are survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. (Mark) Lagana of Rochester, New York and two grandchildren, Madison and Jake Lagana.

Linda is also survived by a sister, Susan (Kim) Calloway of Frankfort, IN, nieces and nephew, Crysta (Brady) Wilson, Ashley (Alex) Smith and Caleb Calloway, great niece and nephew, Hinley and Liam Smith.
