Drug and Alcohol Recovery Home Coming To Frankfort

Drugs and Alcohol can tear apart families and tear down lives.

Plans are underway to build a substance abuse recovery home on nearly 5 acres just south of Baily Trucking on Roy Scott Parkway on the west side of Frankfort.

Baily Trucking has already donated nearly 5 acres for the recovery facility.  The vision is to have a place men can live and recover from alcohol and drug addiction.  The faith-based 501 c-3 corporation “One 80 Recovery Resources” is led by Chairman Rich Reck, Executive Director Paul Fry, Dr. David Fry (President of the Clinton County Ministerial Association), Larry Glass, Treasurer and others.

The pieces to put this facility together are falling into place quickly according to Treasurer Larry Glass.  The corporation formation , land acquisition , building plans, leadership team and community support is growing quickly.  The project started with a meeting two or three weeks before Thanksgiving.  Plans for the non-denominational recovery facility include beds for 28 men, a kitchen area, living area and several bedrooms set up for 2 men per room.

The home will provide a place for men to take the time to recover from alcohol or drug problems while also merging into the work-place when the time is right for the individual.

Plans allow for future expansion to 44 and 60 beds as need and finances allow.  Indiana facilities similar to the planned recovery home have waiting lists near “one thousand” according to Glass.

Glass attributes the astonishing progress to be a “God Thing” and openly shares that the project is one of the most rewarding things in which he has ever played a part.

WILO Party Line will host guests on the project Tuesday January 29th.
