Dwight Daniel Hensley, 60, of Mulberry, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 27, 1959 in Frankfort to Fred Hensley and Barbara (Stevens) Johnson. He was a 1977 graduate of Frankfort High School and went on to serve in the United States Army. Dwight was a member of Frankfort First Church of the Nazarene and participated in Lee’s Lieutenants, a civil war reenactment group. He enjoyed grilling and volunteering at Mulberry Health and Retirement, but his passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his mother, Dwight is survived by his children, Season Hensley of Lebanon, Jared (Modupe) Hensley of Indianapolis, Jeremy (Jennifer) Hensley of Frankfort, Shannen Hensley of Lebanon, and Jordan Hensley of Mulberry; a brother, Samuel (Machelle) Hensley of Bringhurst; sisters, Penny Tucker of Flora and Darlene (Scott) Balko of Michigan; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial visitation will be from 10am until the time of the memorial service at 12pm, Friday, August 23, 2019 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort. Pastor Gordon Smith will officiate. Arrangements are with Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
