Elaine M. Nease, 86, of Lafayette, formerly of Rossville, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by family, June 27, 2024. She was born in Lubec, Maine on August 3, 1937, to Earle and Dorothy (Myers) Webster. She married Walter S. Nease on January 21, 1961, and he survives.
Elaine was a graduate of Calais Memorial High School and then Holy Rosary Business School. She worked at the Rossville Public Library for 18 years as an Assistant Librarian. She was a member of Kilmore United Methodist Church. Elaine enjoyed reading, playing the piano, sewing, and doing crafts. She loved her family. She enjoyed making memories with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren
Along with her husband of 63 years, Elaine is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (James) Switzer and Cynthia (Paul) Evans; sister, Marjorie Thomas; sister-in-law, Carol Webster; grandchildren, Katherine (Jonathan), Emily, Zachary, Madison, Whitney (Mike) and Ashley (Chase); six great grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Shelley and Delbert Berger, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons; and brother, Thomas Webster.
Visitation will be held, Monday, July 1, 2024, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Pastor Craig Overman will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s honor to the Clinton County Cancer Association, Clinton County Salvation Army, and Food Finders Food Bank.
