Elma Gallichan

Elma (Walker) Gallichan, 94, of Frankfort passed away on October 15, 2020. She was born May 27, 1926 to Roy and Dora (Davis) Walker in Clinton County.  She graduated from Sugar Creek School.  She married Raymond Gallichan on August 23, 1945. They had two children, Diana and Ronald. She was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church and then First Wesleyan Church of Frankfort. She played piano and organ for both.  She was active several years at Paul Phillippe Resource Center.  She retired from Kramer Lumber in Kirklin after fifteen years of employment.

She is survived by daughter Diana (Steven) Barnes; daughter-in-law Janet Gallichan; five grandchildren, Stephanie Winston of Park Forest, Illinois, Tina Smith of Greenwood, Arkansas, Rebecca Gallichan, Aaron (Rachel) Gallichan and Bethany (Josh) Spencer all of Frankfort; two step grandsons Bill (Sandy) and Chad Allen; 13 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and three step great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Janiece (Carl) Conner of Florida; two sister-in-laws, Nancy Walker of South Bend and Mona Walker of Franklin, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years; son Ronald; five brothers Floyd, Ralph, Carl, Robert and Dorsal; four sisters Mary Bowman, Wilma Nolte, Roberta Keeling and Orpha Routh; and a step great granddaughter Rosalind Allen.

Private family services will be held at Genda Funeral Home- Frankfort. The public is invited to join the live streamed funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 on the funeral home’s website. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin.
