Encompass Donates $100,000 to Prairie Creek Park Project

With their goal of promoting transformational change in the community, Encompass Credit Union announced a $100,000 gift to the City of Frankfort’s Prairie Creek Park project at a news conference Monday.

Chief Executive Officer Matthew R. Lambert and Chief Operations Officer Killey Shuck joined Mayor Chris McBarnes at the event celebrating the financial commitment to strengthening Frankfort’s quality of place through enhanced green space.

“The Prairie Creek Park project will serve as a catalyst for quality of place enhancements for both the City of Frankfort and Clinton County,” Lambert said. “Encompass Credit Union is excited to help support this dream come to life for all of those that call this community home.”

According to Shuck, thanks to the robust financial strength of Encompass Credit Union these transformational financial gifts have been made possible.

“The income generated from our strategic fiscal decisions and long term planning place us in a key position to be able to give back to the communities we so proudly serve.

“Improving quality of life and quality of place for the residents we serve has been a longstanding goal of our leadership team. Prairie Creek Park, with its triple benefit of beautiful green space, family-friendly recreation and performing arts venue, addresses this goal directly.

“The proposed site for Prairie Creek Park is the heart of Frankfort’s downtown revitalization momentum, the quality of place engine that will make Frankfort a great place to live, work and play,” Shuck said.

In accepting Encompass Credit Union’s generous gift, McBarnes expressed the City’s gratitude and shared the multiple benefits Prairie Creek Park will provide the community.

“We are grateful to Encompass Credit Union for its partnership and belief in our need for transforming Frankfort into a great place to live,” McBarnes said. “This project will serve a significant role in revitalizing the eastern half of our downtown square.

“Created with public and private investments, Prairie Creek Park will add beautiful green space to our downtown, support our small businesses, boost our economic development health and help make Frankfort that much more appealing to professionals and young families interested in living here.”

To be located on the north side of East Washington Street directly across from Nickel Plate Flats, Prairie Creek Park will provide space for the performing arts, interactive water features such as a splash pad, state-of-the-art vendor areas, playground equipment and a dog park, among other great recreational elements.
