Encompass Granted Community Charter Expansion

Encompass Credit Union has been granted an expansion of their community charter by the NCUA, their federal supervisory agency, to also include Howard County. This means that Encompass can now serve anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Tipton, Clinton or Howard Counties (Indiana), their immediate family members who are either a current or eligible to become a member, and also includes businesses and organizations. This field of membership expansion was approved by the Encompass Board of Directors effective March 20, 2018.

Established in 1953, Encompass, originally Steel Parts, Credit Union has evolved from a desk drawer in Walter York’s office inside Steel Parts Corporation to the top 20% in assets of all credit unions nationwide. Those grass roots beginnings built the foundation for today’s success and serves as the basis in current operations.

“Serving the Howard County community is an immense opportunity for us” Encompass CEO Matt Lambert said. “We strive to provide the best products and services available, while enhancing the financial lives of the members and communities we serve. We are proud of what we have accomplished as the premier financial institution in North Central Indiana and look forward to continuing that success with an even larger field of membership base.”
