Etta Marie Owings Goins, 90, of Mulberry, passed away February 22, 2026 at Mulberry Health. She was born January 28, 1936 in Sweetwater, TN to Winston & Edith (Lance) Watson. Her first marriage was to James W. Owings on September 23, 1956 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 1981. She then married Archie Thomas “Jack” Goins on June 29, 1985 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2005.
Marie lived in Coatesville, IN prior to moving to Frankfort in 2019 to live with her daughter, Lisa. A homemaker, she also worked as a personnel manager at Kmart. Marie was a member of the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene and also attended New Hope Church when moving to Clinton County. She loved to sew, was an avid quilter and was a member of the Quilters Club and Gardening Club. Marie’s faith and serving the church was very important to her.
Marie is survived by her children, Randy (Lynn) Goins of Middleburg, FL, James “Douglas” (Dori) Owings of St. Cloud, MN, Catherine Elaine (David) Shaw of Linton, IN, Vicki (Terry) Richey of Frankfort, Lisa (Steve) Levi of Frankfort, Denise Hawkins of Frankfort, Jeff (Kathy) Goins of Amo, IN, 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, brothers, Ralph, Charles and William Watson, and sister, Linda Padgett.
Visitation for Marie will be held on Friday, 27, 2026 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 Noon at New Hope Church, 5306 W. CR 600 S., Frankfort, IN 46041. Shan Sheridan will officiate. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery Mausoleum, Indianapolis, IN. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort is assisting the family.
