The Clinton County Fair Council officially added three more events for the 2018 Clinton County & 4-H Fair Wednesday night.
The council announced that the Clinton County Fair Queen contest will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 7 p.m.in the 4-H Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Events leading up to the contest will be held June 21 and 22.
Also, the council announced that the Clinton County Ministerial Association will hold an event on Sunday, July 8, shortly after the parade which starts at 2 p.m.
“This event will be right after the parade and will be held in our free staging event,” said Fair Council Chairman Jamie Blacker. “They will be showcasing what they do.”
Blacker also said that a car show would be held on Friday, July 13, from 6-9:30 p.m. The Clinton County Fair Council is working to provide more space for the show in the area of Clinton Hall.
“This would be an opportunity to bring younger family members and let them get an up-close look at automobiles that maybe their grandparents or even great-grandparents might have owned,” said Blacker.
Each car owner will be present to talk about the history of their collection.
The main event schedule is as follows: Truck and Tractor Pull (Saturday, July 7), Demolition Derby (Sunday, July 8), Harness Racing (Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10), Stampede Music Concert (Wednesday, July 11), Cheerleading Contest (Thursday, July 12), Dirt Drags (Saturday, July 14), Hispanic Day (Sunday, July 15) and Demolition Derby Rain Date (Sunday, July 15).
“This year’s fair is going to be a little different as the carnival will not start until Monday evening of fair week (July 7-15),” said Blacker. “We’ve got a wide range of activities scheduled so far.”
