Clinton County & 4-H Fair Parade organizer Nancy Elsea has announced the theme for this year’s parade. The theme is: “Summertime Fun”.
Elsea is receiving inquiries from first time parade participants. She says there is no entry form to fill out. Just prepare your entry; be in the area between the Frankfort Public Library and Kramer Lumber on west Clinton Street at 1:30 p.m.; then fall in line as directed by someone in a golf cart.
At 2 p.m. the parade will step off from the Frankfort Library led by the new Fair Queen and her court.
The new fair queen will be selected this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Clinton County & 4-H Community Building on the fairgrounds at 1701 South Jackson Street in Frankfort.
The parade will move on west Clinton Street to the courthouse where it will move clockwise around the courthouse to Jackson Street. From there the parade will move south on Jackson Street to the Clinton County Fairgrounds. This year the parade will move into the fairgrounds and end near the Antique Machinery Building.
Following the parade, families are invited into the fairgrounds where the fair council has prepared an afternoon of family fun. Featured will be the “Colts in Motion” exhibit. Several other family oriented activities are planned.
The Clinton County & 4-H Fair begins Saturday, July 7 and ends Sunday, July 15. The final day features all day entertainment from Huesman Amusement Company; from noon to 11 p.m.
