Farmers Bank Hosts Free Community Shred Day Saturday

Are you overwhelmed with papers you would like to get rid of?  The Farmers Bank regularly organizes these events for their hometown communities to raise awareness to the ongoing issues of identity theft protection and recycling. Each ton of paper recycled saves 26 trees and is used for future paper products.  In past events we’ve recycled several tons of paper and hope to do the same at this event.

9:00 AM – 12:00 NOON

Consumers and small business owners can securely destroy sensitive paper documents quickly, efficiently and free of charge.  All documents will be shredded on-site.  You don’t need to remove papers from file folders, take out staples or remove paperclips as they can run through the shredder.  Participants will be able to watch their documents be destroyed and leave with peace of mind, knowing their personal information will not get into the wrong hands.  Once the documents are shredded, they are then recycled.

Any documents or media that display account numbers or social security numbers could lead to identity theft and should be properly shredded.  We recommend shredding the following items:  financial statements, credit applications, insurance records, physician statements, checks, employment application, and credit card receipts & solicitations.

“At The Farmers Bank we are dedicated to safeguarding your personal information to protect you from identity theft and scams,” said Karen F. Gregerson, President/CEO.  “We are pleased to offer these annual events as a tool for both our customers and the community to be proactive in keeping their personal information secure.”

There isn’t a limit to the amount of documents participants are able to shred.  However, if an individual or small business has an extremely large amount, please call the bank before the event in case other arrangements will need to be made.  For further information about the Free Community Shred Day Event contact The Farmers Bank at 765-654-8731.

Due to the location change to East Clinton Street in front of The Farmers Bank, we will no longer be accepting prescription drugs or electronic recyclables.
