FHS Competition Cheer Squad Takes First at Indiana State Fair

The Frankfort High School competition cheer squad competed at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday and earned a first-place finish.

The Frankfort High School Competition Cheer Squad competed Saturday at the Indiana State Fair. Each squad competed in the preliminaries for a chance to be selected for the finals held at 5 p.m.

Frankfort competed in the Small Varsity with Music Division and brought home first place. This is the fourth year that the Frankfort High School Competition Squad has competed in the State Fair, one of which was a rain out and the other two years placing 3rd and 5th place.
Competing in the finals against Frankfort were Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Illiana Christian School and Wawasee High School.
It was a great competition for the Frankfort girls, showing that they could put together two solid performances during the day on Saturday. The coaches were pleased with their overall execution of the routine and the leadership of the two senior captains, Alyssa Kelly and Ella Myers. It was a complete team effort coupled with execution that allowed us to bring home first place.

Competition Squad members are seniors Alyssa Kelly and Ella Myers. Juniors Kileigh Adams-Long, Lily Cervantez, Madi Myers, Abby Plumback, and Escarlet Zuniga; sophomores Karina Castaneda, Anna Drew, Peyton Myers, Gabby Navarro-Cervantes, Brinzlee Sallee; and freshmen Kiana Cervantez and Joci Compton.
