FHS Has Several Qualifiers for Girls’ Sectional Swimming Final

The Frankfort High School girls’ swimming team had two relays and three individuals qualify for the sectional finals Thursday night in West Lafayette.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Payton Teter, Karely Santos, Amber Houchen and Yasmin Lemus finished seventh in a time of 1:59.19; and the 200 medley relay team of Carmina Arizmendi, Houchen, Santos and Teter wound up eight in 2:18.43.
Individually, Houchen was 14th in the 100 breaststroke (1:24.89), Santos placed 15th in the 100 butterfly (1:15.78) and Georgia Meyer was 16th in the 200 IM (2:45.04) and 16th in the 500 freestyle (6:37.24).
Time Drops:
Jazmin Glavez – 100 Backstroke Dropped 7 seconds
Payton Teter – 100 Freestyle Dropped 1 second
Mia Hernandez – 50 Freestyle Dropped 1 second
The sectional finals will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Rossville Girls’ Basketball Season Ends
Lafayette Central Catholic raced out to a 23-4 lead after one quarter and never looked back in a 64-27 victory over Rossville in the Class 2A sectional basketball tournament Tuesday night at Fountain Central.
Madison Miller led Rossville with 12 points and seven rebounds. Kennedy Houser led the team in rebounds with eight.
