FHS Softball Remains Unbeaten With Win Over Lebanon

The Frankfort High School softball team improved to 6-0 with an 8-7 victory over Lebanon on April 14.

Sydni Whitaker led the Lady Hots Dogs going 3 for 5 and Karim Quinones went 2 for 4. Autumn Bower, Tarah Martinez and Katie Roberts each added one hit and Zoey Westerman added another home run.

Makayla Harper collected the win for FHS. She pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits, seven runs and struck out four.

Baseball Downs Kokomo and Southmont

Frankfort defeated Kokomo 6-4 on Friday night. Brayan Valdez and Damian Lopez both pitched well with Lopez earning the win to improve to 2-0. Andy Guijosa led the offense with a double and a home run.

The Hot Dogs followed that up with a 4-0 victory over Southmont. Jose Lopez pitched a complete-game shutout with the help of some outstanding team defense. Deacon Spencer and Jade Ayers led the offense.

On April 14, Frankfort fell to Lebanon 12-4. Valdez hit his first home run of the season.

Track Teams at Noblesville

The Frankfort girls’ shuttle hurdle relay team earned a first-place finish in a time of 1:07.9 in the Charger Relays at Noblesville.

The girls’ 4×100 relay was third in 55.4, while the co-ed freight train relay placed fifth in 1:00.2.

Top finish for the boys was in the distance medley relay where FHS placed fourth, while the 4×400 relay took fifth in 3:46.6.

Golfers Fall to Kokomo

Frankfort lost to Kokomo 163-212 Monday afternoon in Kokomo. Senior Reece Mitchell led Frankfort with a 44. Dakota Bailey was next at 54 followed by Ramsey Mitchell 56 and Trevor Meeks 58.

Frankfort also participated in the Twin Lakes Invitational on Saturday where they placed 17th. Frankfort finished with 410 with Bailey leading the way at 97. Ramsey Mitchell was next at 100, Reece Mitchell 103 and Meeks 110.

Tennis Team Falls to West Lafayette

Frankfort fell to West Lafayette 5-0 Monday at FHS.

Central Golfers Win Caston Invitational

Clinton Central won its second invitational this year by capturing the Caston Invitational Saturday at Pondview Golf Course in Star City.

Senior Mike Harness followed up his win at the Frankfort Commons with a third-place finish in the tourney. Central wound up with a total of 409, eight shots better than Caston and 20 strokes better than Morgan Township, which placed third.

Central Softball Team Wins

Clinton Central improved to 5-3 with a 6-5 victory over Sheridan on Saturday. Freshman pitcher Landree Whiteman pitched a complete game and struck out 11. Junior Kendall Davison had three RBIs on the day.
