Fire Does Damage to Maintenance Building at Golf Course

Frankfort Fire Department units were dispatched at approximately 3:40 a.m. on February 1, to a possible commercial fire alarm at 100 Golf Preserve Lane. Engine 2 arrived and reported smoke visible from the golf course maintenance building. When other FFD units arrived, firefighters immediately began fire suppression activities.

Battalion 1 called for second alarm and 8 firefighters were called in to cover the city while all other FFD units were on the scene of the active fire. Firefighters had the fire under control within 30 minutes. Battalion Chief Jeff Cline called for the Frankfort Fire Department on call fire investigator. Investigation Division Captain Dustin Phillips responded to the scene and conducted a scene examination. Capt. Phillips has determined that the fire was an accidental electrical fire. No firefighter injuries were reported.

Board of Public Works and Safety member Jim Siegfried is actively working with the city’s insurance provider to begin the recovery process. Jim Siegfried stated, “Although this was an unexpected hit to our golf course operations, we will recover and look forward to a successful year at the Frankfort Commons”.
