Frankfort Fire Department responded to a single family dwelling fire Wednesday morning. All occupants were out of the home when they arrived.
Before firefighters arrived, the home owner tried to extinguish the fire. Once there, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear windows and the attic. Fire crews quickly assessed the situation and requested additional tankers of water from Station 6, Station 12 and Station 8.
Firefighters had the fire under control within a couple of hours. Fire crews remained on the scene to control hot spots.
Due to the heavy debris and unsafe roof structure we called for an excavator from Mike Lidister to assist in bringing the roof debris down to keep from any further fire extension to take place. This fire is currently under investigation.
Chief Matt Stidham said “Amazing teamwork everyone, thank you Station 6, Station 12, Station 8, CCEMS and CCSO for assisting us today and great job to everyone for their hard work and dedication”.
