Firefighters Respond to Fire on CR 650 South

Frankfort Firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 457 East County Road 650 South at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames and smoke emanating from the area around the chimney.

According to Assistant Chief Ed Cripe, “A fire in the fireplace ignited the chimney which was burning on the exterior of the home. As a result, no smoke alarms went off in the house. The quick actions of a passerby alerted the homeowners, and they were able to safely exit the premises.”

Firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly and had the scene under control by 2 a.m. No injuries were reported.
