Flora Airport Open House Brings Smiles For All Ages. Photos, Video

Flora Municipal Airport held an Open House with free Balsa Wood Airplanes for the kids, packaged snacks for all and family fun for about 100 people.

A steady flow of people saw over a dozen aircraft in the air, on the field or in the hangers.  This celebration of flight featured up-close tours of vintage, ultralight and general aviation aircraft.

Flora Municipal Airport has a 2200 foot turf runway and an 800×1200 foot ultralight operation area perfect for tail draggers, ultra-lights and small traditional aircraft.

22 MPH gusts kept away the planned biplanes and parachute team but an otherwise beautiful day brought smiles to faces young and old.

Erick Dircks and Anna Emory captured the special day with pictures and a produced video with music composed and performed by Russ Kaspar.
