The Flora Community Club has invited the community to join together this Saturday, Nov. 30 for Flora’s Polar Express Christmas Parade and Flora Depot Railroad and Local History Museum Tree Lighting.
All Christmas enthusiasts have been invited to make this year’s Polar Express Christmas Parade extra magical by participating. The parade registration and line-up will begin at 3 p.m. with the parade steaming ahead at 4 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 30. The parade will begin at the intersection of Center Street and Main Street in Flora. Floats, golf carts, walking groups and tractors are all welcome.
Following the parade, community members are invited to visit Santa at the Depot until 6 p.m. for photos while enjoying cookies and hot chocolate courtesy of Flowers and Friends and SuperValu. During the event, community members may receive a Letters to Santa Kit for the little ones before the tree is lit with holiday magic.
Santa will continue to meet community members at the Flora Depot on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 21, where he will be joined by Mrs. Claus for Storytime at the Depot, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for extra Christmas festivities.
